Domaine Faiveley's Gevrey-Chambertin Premier Cru La Combe aux Moines was named after Cluny's Monks. La Combe aux Moines (the monks' combe) refers to the small valley where Cluny's monks use to gather after a hard day's work during the construction of Gevrey Castle. The 2014 vintage wine is pure Pinot Noir.
The very pleasant 2014 Gevrey-Chambertin gives off fresh red berry and spices aromas, followed by delicate woody and empyreumatic notes from the ageing in barrels. On the palate, the 2014 Gevrey-Chambertin Premier Cru La Combe aux Moine develops roundness and persistence. Fruity and woody aromas echo the nose. The elegant 2014 vintage wine offers silky tannins as well as a distinguished and persistent finish. This wine can be tasted between 2021 and 2028.
