The expression of a high-altitude terroir in Vinsobres
The estate
The modern history of Famille Perrin began in 1909, when Pierre Tramier acquired Château de Beaucastel in the Rhône Valley. Handed down from generation to generation, the estate has distinguished itself through its pioneering spirit, adopting organic farming as early as 1950 and then biodynamics in 1974 under the impetus of Jacques Perrin. Today, the fifth generation, represented by the Perrin brothers, is at the helm of the estate. They uphold a philosophy that combines respect for winegrowing traditions with modernity, while showcasing the terroirs of the Rhône with great precision.
The vineyard
This wine comes from the Vinsobres appellation, the northernmost and coolest part of the family's vineyards in the south of the region. The vines thrive at an altitude of around 300 metres, rooted in soils made up of stony terraces and sandy marl.
The vintage
The year was punctuated by a series of climatic challenges that demanded constant attention in the vineyards. To ensure optimal ripeness for each plot, the harvest was carefully staggered between 22 August and 3 October, giving the picked berries perfect balance.
Winemaking and ageing
Les Cornuds 2024 is crafted using a very traditional approach in the cellar, true to the family's philosophy of precision and patience.
Grape varieties
This balanced blend is made from Grenache and Syrah.
