The Elegance and Richness of a Great White Wine from the Rhône Valley

The Estate

Nestled in the Rhône Valley, the Chave family has been growing vines since 1481. Originally established on the hillsides of Saint-Joseph, the estate expanded onto the Hermitage hill in the late 19th century. Today, Gérard and his son Jean-Louis Chave run this family property. A true benchmark, the estate stands out for its respectful viticulture and meticulous parcel-by-parcel blending, giving rise to wines of remarkable precision.

The Vineyard

The vineyard stretches across the steep slopes of the Hermitage hill. The plots dedicated to white wines are mainly located on the prestigious terroirs of Rocoules, l'Ermite and Péléat. This unique terroir boasts remarkable geological diversity, combining loess, clay and limestone soils, ideal for the development of white grape varieties. Cultivated with the utmost care, this terraced vineyard requires exclusively manual work.

Winemaking and Aging

The grapes are harvested by hand at optimal ripeness. Winemaking is carried out plot by plot. Aging takes place in oak barrels and vats, preserving the freshness and pure fruit expression before the final blending of the different lieux-dits, a true signature of the estate.

Grape Varieties

Marsanne, Roussanne.
