Description
The vivacity and refinement of a Pessac-Léognan white Second Wine
The estate
Owned by the Bernard family since 1983, the magnificent Domaine de Chevalier is one of Bordeaux's finest Cru Classés. The estate is located in the heart of the Pessac-Léognan appellation, in a green setting south of Bordeaux. L'Esprit de Chevalier is the estate’s Second Wine.
The vineyard
Domaine de Chevalier is a Pessac-Léognan wine that stems from a rare 67-hectare vineyard, of which 7 hectares are dedicated to white wine. Since 1986, the young vines have been destined to ripen the grapes that go into the second wine of the estate, L'Esprit de Chevalier.
Winemaking and ageing
After manual harvesting in crates, during which 3 to 5 meticulous sorting operations are carried out depending on the maturity of the grapes, the must is settled and then fermented in barrels. Finally, the wine is aged in barrels for 9 months.
Blend
Sauvignon Blanc (70%)
Sémillon (30%).

Nose
The nose is fresh, releasing fragrances of citrus, ripe white fruit and white flowers. With aeration, the bouquet becomes more complex with notes of nectarine, yellow peach, blackcurrant bud, almond and lime blossom.
Palate
A dense and fleshy attack precedes a palate with fruity aromas (white fruits) combined with a beautiful freshness. The finish is lingering and delicious with its salinity and elegance.
