Les Fiefs de Lagrange 2018

Nicely focused, with a racy beam of cassis and dark plum fruit laced with violet and anise hints. Sleek finish has a tinge of singed wood at the very end. Approachable now. Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Petit Verdot. Drink now through 2028. 17,500 cases made.

Oak notes are evident as the wine opens up and are followed by a plump fruit structure of black cherry and damson. Ageing potential. The tannins are still in need of a few years in bottle to settle.

Barrel sample. Deepest crimson. Ripe, aromatic and pure cassis on the nose. Pretty firm texture but lots of juicy fruit within that framework. Red cherry and cassis. Very good harmony and lots of easy appeal. (JH)

Intense garnet, purple reflections, subtle ochre rim. Aromas of blackberry confit, with delicate background notes of tobacco, candied orange zest, a subtle herbal savouriness and a touch of oak. Medium complexity, with notes of sweet cherry compote, a pleasant sweetness, well-integrated tannins and a mineral finish. A slender, but well-balanced food wine.

Bright dark purple colour. Pure nose offering plum, cherry and red berry notes with some butterscotch and oak. The palate is nicely rounded with savoury red fruit notes, supple tannin, a fresh acidity and good length.

Les Fiefs de Lagrange 2018 has a deep garnet purple color. It offers notes of kirsch, baked plums, and blackcurrants, plus wafts of earth and truffles. Medium-bodied, it has good intensity and a sturdy backbone, finishing with lovely purity.

An aristocratic nose, perfume-like with notes of musk, morello cherry and cinnamon. The palate is harmonious and supple, concentrated in fruit and aroma, and finishes with a beautiful, radiant length.

Pleasant freshness in the bouquet of Les Fiefs with notes of raspberries. Juicy, gourmand character on the palate. The wine is delicate, balanced, mouthwatering, and can already be enjoyed in its youth.
