Mâcon-Fuissé is a Village appellation located solely in the town of Fuissé in the Mâconnais. The Mâcon-Fuissé appellation produces only white Chardonnay wines. The vines are planted on varied clay-limestone soil that consists of calcareous brown soils, siliceous soils, clay, sand and sometimes a mixture of sandstone and pebbles. Mâcon-Fuissé wines are characterized by aromatic floral, vegetal, and citrus aromas with added fruity, balsamic and aniseed notes. On the palate, Mâcon-Fuissé wines reveal a great fruitiness and freshness with concentration. They have a very good aging potential because of their beautiful acidity.
