Description

Characteristics and tasting notes of the Marina Cvetic "Trebbiano Riserva" 2023

Tasting

Colour
This white wine from Italy reveals a magnificent golden-yellow hue, enhanced by a brilliant luminosity.

Nose
The aromatic bouquet proves rich and complex, blending from the outset scents of almond paste, yellow apple and brioche. It then evolves towards notes of candied citrus, ripe apricot and white peach, heightened by delicate floral touches of hawthorn.

Palate
On the palate, the attack seduces with its silky texture and lovely depth. The wine unfolds flavours of tropical fruit and pastry, supported by an elegant structure where acidity and minerality achieve perfect balance. The finish lingers on delicious notes of Asian pear.

Food and wine pairing

This cuvée pairs wonderfully with baked fish, seafood such as oysters or scallops, as well as white meats accompanied by a creamy sauce.

Service and storage

This wine can be enjoyed now, but its fine structure allows it to age favourably in the cellar, to be enjoyed until around 2033.

The richness of a great white wine from Abruzzo by Masciarelli

The estate

Founded in 1981 by the visionary Gianni Masciarelli, Masciarelli is located in San Martino sulla Marrucina, in the Abruzzo region of Italy. Today, his wife Marina Cvetic and their daughter Miriam Lee Masciarelli lead the estate. A pioneer in crafting high-quality wines, the estate stands out for its environmental commitment and sustainable practices.

The vineyard

The grapes for this cuvée come from plots situated between 230 and 360 metres in altitude, on soils composed of clay and limestone. Grown using organic and biodynamic methods, the Trebbiano d'Abruzzo vines benefit from the traditional pergola training system.

The vintage

The year 2023 began with a mild, dry winter, with no snow, followed by an early spring with high temperatures that accelerated the growing cycle. The months of May and June saw exceptional rainfall. The arrival of hot, dry weather from mid-June onwards helped keep the vines healthy right through to harvest.

Winemaking and aging

After a harvest carried out in the second half of October, the grapes undergo destemming and pressing, followed by a twelve-hour cold maceration. Fermentation then takes place in new French oak barrels for 15 to 30 days. The wine is aged for twelve months in barrel, during which malolactic fermentation occurs, before resting for a further twelve months in bottle.
