Description

Characteristics and Tasting Tips for Meursault 1er Cru "Le Porusot" Domaine 2025 by Olivier Leflaive

Tasting

Colour
This white wine displays a beautiful pale yellow colour with golden highlights.

Nose
The aromatic bouquet reveals elegant notes of hazelnut and white fruits such as mirabelle plum or pear, subtly enriched by buttery touches and hints of dried fruit.

Palate
The palate captivates with a broad, generous attack. A straight backbone and fine mineral tension balance this richness, leading to a long, flavourful and particularly elegant finish.

Food and Wine Pairings
This cuvée pairs wonderfully with noble fish such as turbot or poached lobster, poultry in white sauce, as well as mature cheeses such as Comté, Cîteaux or Époisses.

Serving and Cellaring
For optimal enjoyment, this wine is best served at a temperature between 12 and 14°C. With its fine structure, it has excellent ageing potential and can be enjoyed until around 2035.

The Elegance and Richness of a Great White Wine from Meursault

The Estate
Founded in 1984 by Olivier Leflaive, the eponymous house is an essential figure in Burgundy. Based in Puligny-Montrachet, it stands out for its model combining haute couture négoce with its own 26-hectare estate. A pioneer of wine tourism in the region, the property is now run by Julie Leflaive, representing the new generation, supported by Jean Soubeyrand. Guided by the philosophy of "doing better with less", Domaine Olivier Leflaive produces wines renowned worldwide for their precision, while promoting environmentally respectful viticulture.

The Vineyard
This wine comes from the celebrated Climat "Le Porusot", located in the commune of Meursault. The vines, planted in 1990, thrive at an altitude of between 250 and 300 metres on a very mineral, stony clay-limestone terroir. Farmed according to the principles of High Environmental Value (HVE 3) certification, this vineyard benefits from rigorous soil management and entirely manual harvesting to guarantee the excellence of the grapes.

Vinification and Maturation
The making of this wine is based on a delicate pressing of the berries. Alcoholic and malolactic fermentations take place entirely in oak barrels. The wine is then carefully aged for approximately 18 months in barrels, 25% of which are new oak, helping to structure the wine while preserving the aromatic purity of the fruit.

Grape Variety
100% Chardonnay.
