Description
Characteristics and Tasting Tips for the Pernand-Vergelesses Village 2025 by Olivier Leflaive
Tasting
Colour
The wine displays a brilliant ruby hue, with violet highlights in its youth.
Nose
The aromatic bouquet opens with intense notes of red and black berries, such as cherry, raspberry and blackcurrant, subtly enhanced by touches of spice and a light oakiness.
Palate
The attack is frank and fruity, revealing an elegant texture supported by fine, silky tannins. The persistent, harmonious finish expresses the full typicity of its Burgundy terroir.
Food and Wine Pairings
This red wine will pair perfectly with roasted meats such as pork tenderloin or duck breast with cherries, as well as soft cheeses such as Camembert or Brie.
Serving and Cellaring
For optimal enjoyment, we recommend serving this wine between 15 and 16°C. The 2025 vintage, currently still maturing, promises excellent ageing potential and can be enjoyed until 2035.
The Authentic Expression of a Great Terroir of the Côte de Beaune
The Estate
Founded in 1984 by Olivier Leflaive, the eponymous House is an essential reference in Burgundy. Located in the heart of Puligny-Montrachet, it stands out for its "haute couture" approach as a négociant-éleveur, mastering the vinification of rigorously selected grapes. A pioneer of wine tourism in the region, the estate cultivates a philosophy of sharing and education. Today, the estate remains a family-run business in which the new generation perpetuates the excellence and identity of this prestigious name through a rich and coherent range.
The Vineyard
This Pernand-Vergelesses Village comes from vines planted on slopes with clay-limestone soils, typical of this appellation of the Côte de Beaune. The terroir, which benefits from an ideal exposure, allows the grape variety to achieve beautiful ripeness while retaining great freshness.
Winemaking and Ageing
The grapes are harvested by hand in order to preserve the integrity of the berries. After rigorous sorting, vinification is carried out in the traditional manner. Ageing takes place in French oak barrels, adding complexity and structure to the wine while respecting the fruity expression of the grape variety.
