The estate

It was in 1982, after some six years spent searching for the ideal terroir, that Sir Peter Michael and Lady Michael acquired 630 acres of volcanic ridges on the western face of Mount St. Helena in Knights Valley.

This estate represents the fulfilment of one man's dream. A longtime devotee of Bordeaux and Burgundy wines, Sir Peter Michael set out from the very beginning to make his estate a benchmark among the greatest California wines.

Renowned for their elegance and produced in limited quantities, the wines of Peter Michael Winery rank among the finest labels in American wine.

The wine

In 2009, the Peter Michael family acquired a vineyard of around 10 hectares located in Oakville. This terroir owes its distinctive character to its renowned rich soils of iron and red earth. Following the acquisition, extensive work was undertaken to improve the vineyard.

"Au Paradis" Estate Cabernet Sauvignon by Peter Michael Winery is acclaimed by numerous critics, as evidenced by the 2012 vintage, which was selected for Wine Spectator's Top 100 Wines in 2015.
