The freshness and elegance of a gastronomic white wine from the Languedoc

The estate
Located in the Languedoc, Roc d'Anglade was officially founded in 1999 by Rémy Pédréno, a former IT engineer. Now at the helm of this estate of around 12 hectares, he is reviving the legacy of the Cru Langlade, a historic terroir renowned since the 15th century. The winemaker stands out for his determination to create free-spirited wines outside the traditional appellations, relying on certified organic viticulture. The estate is thus recognised for its cuvées of great precision, combining freshness, tension and elegance.

The vineyard
The vines behind this IGP Pays du Gard wine are planted on the lieux-dits Canzert and Mégères, in the heart of the garrigue. This singular terroir benefits from a north-facing exposure, giving the local climate a freshness that is unusual for the region. The soils consist of a clay-siliceous mosaic resting on limestone marls, providing excellent drainage and optimal water regulation. The vineyard is carefully cultivated without synthetic chemicals, and the grapes are harvested by hand.

Vinification and ageing
This cuvée is crafted using minimal-intervention methods. After whole-bunch pressing, fermentation starts naturally with indigenous yeasts in old foudres. The wine is then aged for 18 months, including 12 months on fine lees in 7-hectolitre terracotta jars, preserving all the purity of the fruit.

Grape variety
Chenin.
