A Portuguese Red wine from Beiras imbued with freshness and complexity

The estate

Founded in 1692, Taylor's remains one of the oldest and most prestigious Porto houses, located in the Douro region of Portugal. This independent family estate is exclusively dedicated to the production of Porto using traditional methods, employing terraced vineyards on the steep slopes of the Duriense. Owned by the Fladgate Partnership family company, Taylor's stands out for its historic Quintas (Vargellas, Terra Feita) and its aging techniques in oak casks. The house produces exceptional vintage cuvées and tawnies aged up to 50 years, embodying the excellence and authenticity of traditional Portuguese Porto.

The vineyard

This Principal Grande Reserva Red is a wine from Bairrada, originating from a vineyard naturally sheltered by the Caramulo and Buçaco mountain ranges. Benefiting from a temperate climate under the influence of the Atlantic Ocean, this terroir thrives on gently sloping hillsides composed of clay-limestone soils, which give the wine its characteristic minerality.

Blend

Touriga nacional, a noble Portuguese grape variety bringing structure and complexity; cabernet sauvignon, which provides backbone and aging potential; and merlot, which adds roundness and suppleness to the whole.
