The vineyard

Covering an area of 25 hectares, the Weingut Dönnhoff terroir is unique in that its variety of soils and exposures provide ideal conditions for the grapes to reach optimum ripeness. The vines, aged between 20 and 70 years, are meticulously cared for and produce great German wines with low yields but very high quality.

Classified as a VDP Grosse Lage, this Riesling Niederhäuser Hermannshöhle Grosses Gewächs Trocken 2022 from Weingut Dönnhoff is a Nahe wine from a steep, south-facing vineyard that has been recognised for over a century as the highest quality terroir in the entire Nahe region. The vines, which can reach 70 years of age, grow on soils that are extremely rich in minerals, made up of grey-black slate and volcanic elements.
