The estate

Established in its modern form in 1971 by Helmut Dönnhoff, Weingut Dönnhoff now covers twenty-eight hectares in Oberhausen an der Nahe. Cornelius Dönnhoff, the fourth generation, has been running the estate since 2007 alongside his father. Certified FAIR'N GREEN Standard, the estate primarily grows Riesling on a diversity of soils and embodies a philosophy of authentic terroir expression, standing as an international benchmark.

The vineyard

Niederhäuser Klamm, classified as Große Lage, lies directly adjacent to the famous Hermannshöhle in the Nahe region. This exceptional vineyard is rooted in extremely stony soils of porphyry mixed with slate. The vines, aged from fifteen to thirty-five years, deliver limited yields of around forty hectoliters per hectare, ensuring concentration and quality.

Winemaking and aging

The Riesling Niederhäuser Klamm Kabinett 2022 comes from a fully selective, 100% hand-harvested crop. Vinification and maturation take place in stainless-steel tanks and large oak casks, preserving aromatic purity and the expression of the volcanic terroir.
