The vineyard

All wines signed by Xavier Vignon are born in the Rhône Valley. For the Arcane collection, the winemaker carefully chooses his terroirs to explore their full potential. The Arcane V Le Pape 2010 cuvée comes from century-old Grenache vines planted on the famous terroirs of the Châteauneuf-du-Pape appellation.

The wine

A strong symbol of timeless power and forward-looking knowledge, Le Pape commands respect. This exceptional vintage produced under the Châteauneuf-du-Pape appellation also testifies to an absolute knowledge of a mythical terroir that arouses admiration.

Vinification and ageing

Xavier Vignon has achieved an incredible technical feat by uniquely combining vinification and ageing processes that confer an extraordinary singularity. After manual harvesting with sorting in the plot and destemming, the grapes are handled very little. Once fermented, the wine was placed in special barrels with a stainless steel hoop. The barrels were then immersed in tanks, themselves filled with Châteauneuf-du-Pape. Protected for 60 months from the effects of oxidation, the wine then waited another year in the bottle before being marketed.
