The estate
In 1999, Mariano García and Javier Zaccagnini founded Aalto Bodegas y Viñedos with the goal of crafting great Spanish wines that are complex, balanced, and endowed with a unique personality. Over the years, Aalto Bodegas y Viñedos has established itself as a benchmark among producers in the Ribera del Duero. Thanks to their richness and refinement, these wines quickly gained international recognition, as evidenced by the estate’s ranking among the world’s top 100 wineries by renowned French critics Michel Bettane and Thierry Desseauve.
The vineyard
The vineyard of Aalto Bodegas y Viñedos spans 130 hectares, distinguished by a mosaic of more than 200 plots spread across nine different villages. Each plot, with its varied elevations and unique microclimates, requires special attention to determine the optimal harvest date. Meticulous care is devoted to this vineyard, which is farmed without herbicides or pesticides, with vines aged 40 to 100 years.
The wine
Aalto PS is a wine from the Ribera del Duero, produced from a rigorous selection of very old vines, 60 to 90 years old, located in the vineyards of La Horra and La Aguilera.

This 2023 Aalto PS from Aalto Bodegas y Viñedos is 100% Tempranillo (Tinto Fino).
