The estate

Considered as one of the world's greatest winemakers, Alvaro Palacios is the creator of legendary vintages such as "l'Ermita", "Les Terrasses" and "Finca Dofi", which have revealed the exceptional terroir of the Priorat region. Enjoyable in its youth and perfectly executed by Alvaro Palacios, the Camins del Priorat vintage is a perfect introduction to the uniqueness of this wine-growing area which is home to many great Spanish wines.

The vineyard

Camins del Priorat 2021 by Alvaro Palacios is a wine from Priorat, a wine-growing region in Catalonia, northern Spain. This wine stems from vineyards whose total surface area of 80 hectares is spread over 8 villages around the municipality of Gratallops.

The vines are planted on the appellation’s typical soil, the famous "Llicorella" composed of very brittle slate. The vines are between 14 and 46 years old and are planted on very steep terraced slopes at altitudes of between 350 and 700 metres. The climate is Mediterranean, with a noticeable maritime influence.

Vinification and ageing

The hand-picked grapes are destemmed before being vinified in stainless steel vats, tuns and concrete vats using indigenous yeasts. Maceration for 20 to 30 days. Aged for 4 to 6 months in barrels and tuns.

The tasting

Fresh and delicious, the nose reveals fruity (juicy black fruit) and subtly woody fragrances with spicy and floral notes.


Ample and generous, the palate is seduced by this wine’s fine tannins, its texture and its refreshing minerality conferred by the schist soil.
