Description
A red wine from Saint-Estèphe by Bernard Magrez
The estate
It was in 2016 that Bernard Magrez acquired Château La Peyre, later renaming it Château Bernard Magrez. Located in the heart of the Saint-Estèphe appellation, in Leyssac, Château Bernard Magrez produces fine Bordeaux wines that are both rare and exceptional.
The vineyard
The Château Bernard Magrez vineyard covers 7.5 hectares of vines in the heart of the Saint-Estèphe appellation. Located not too far from the Gironde estuary and the Atlantic Ocean, the vineyard enjoys an exceptional environment. The vines, which are 45 years old on average, are planted in gravel and clay-limestone soils. The vineyard is cultivated with sustainable phytosanitary control.
The winemaking
25 hl thermoregulated stainless steel tanks with maceration for 30 days. Full vinification in barrels.
The ageing
35% in new barrels, 35% in barrels of one previous wine, 10% in jugs
The blend
70% Merlot, 30% Cabernet Sauvignon.
