The estate has decided to produce 80% of the main wine and to keep 20% for its second label this year. The robe of this Charmail 2015 can be recognized by its intense almost black purple color. This Haut-Médoc is wide and intense characterized by its fresh blackcurrant and blackberry scents. On the mouth the strong tannic structure is elegant, mature and well extracted. The weight of the wine is well appreciated in the middle of the tongue and develops a spicy and long finish. This dynamic wine has a great aging potential.
Wine Advocate-Parker :
Tasted at the Cru Bourgeois annual tasting, the 2015 Charmail has a pretty, pastille-like bouquet with pure red cherry and wild berry fruit, lively and charming. The palate is medium-bodied with fine tannin, crisp on the entry with well-judged acidity and nicely integrated oak toward the sustained finish. I think this classically styled Haut-Médoc will age well. Tasted September 2017.
