Description

A great Saint-Estèphe wine to delight with its vivacity and complexity

The estate

Located in the north of the Médoc, on the Saint-Estèphe hill, Château Cos d'Estournel rises majestically. Like a Maharadjah's palace, the château and its pagodas surprise and captivate the eye. In 1791, Louis-Gaspard d'Estournel inherited hectares of vines and had the estate built. An adventurer who travelled the world, he was influenced by eastern aesthetics and gave Château Cos d'Estournel its unique architecture in the Médoc. Owned by Michel Reybier since 2000, Château Cos d'Estournel continues to shine its light on Bordeaux’s Left Bank, joining the ranks of the world's greatest wines and distinguishing itself by its unique style and beauty while constantly striving for excellence.

The vineyard

A major name among the great wines of Saint-Estèphe, Château Cos d'Estournel enjoys an exceptional geographical location. Indeed, its vineyard is located on the edge of the plateau, in the immediate vicinity of the Gironde estuary. The vineyard thus benefits from a maritime climate while being protected from inclement weather. The vines are planted on two slopes and a central plateau, benefiting from ideal exposure and good ventilation.

Blend

Cabernet Sauvignon (78%)
Merlot (19%)
Cabernet Franc (2%)
Petit Verdot (1%).

Nose
The nose releases delicious scents of crushed blackberries, licorice and cedar.

Palate
