The smoothness and richness of an Haut-Médoc red wine
Owned since 2005 by the Merlaut family and managed by Céline Villars Foubet and her husband Jean-Pierre Foubet, Château de Camensac has been enthroned in the heart of the Haut-Médoc since the 18th century. This 5th Grand Cru Classé in 1855 has undergone major investments, both in the vineyard and in the cellar, which have enabled the estate to equip itself with the tools it needs. Today, Château de Camensac is well-known in the Bordeaux marketplace and has among the best value for money.
An essential reference among Haut-Médoc wines, Château de Camensac extends its vineyard over 86 hectares planted on two different types of soil: the Günzian gravel found in Saint-Julien and the Villefranchian gravel found in Pessac-Léognan. The singularity of the estate’s wines comes from these two types of soil.
A mild, rainy winter preceded a particularly mild month of March, favouring an early budding of the vines. This advance was slowed down by episodes of frost in April. The flowering was carried out under humid conditions and was uneven. The end of the summer was punctuated

The colour is clear and shining.
The first nose opens with fruit and red rose fragrances. On aeration, the richness of the bouquet is revealed through fruity and floral notes as well as a beautiful minerality.
A lively attack precedes a mouth with silky tannins. The palate is ample and has a beautiful sapidity until a persistent finish, exhaling notes of blackberry as well as a suave salinity.
