A friendly style, with a creamy hint along the edges of the yellow apple, white ginger, pear, jasmine and salted butter notes. There's a pretty straw tint to the finish. Drink now through 2021. 1,000 cases made.

With touches of patisserie on the nose, this is a good-quality wine with all the sweet fruit that was evident during En primeur. It’s good quality, going the extra mile—if not their best ever white vintage.

A dense and structured white with layers of ripe fruit and tannins. Full-bodied. Lots of waxy lemon, cooked-apple, and dried-mango flavors. Traditional style. Needs three to four years to come together. Try after 2022.

Bright yellow citrus, vanilla, flowers and lemon rind merge into a juicy, lush, round, sweet jolt of orange, vanilla and yellow citrus on the palate. This is forward and already fun to drink.

Possessing a big tropical and exotic nose, the 2016 Château de Fieuzal Blanc is a medium- to full-bodied, rich, beautifully textured white that’s going to shine on the dinner table. It picks up more peach as well as a kiss of oak with time in the glass and has impressive concentration and a ready-to-go style. I’d be happy to drink it over the coming 4–5 years, and I suspect it will keep longer.

What a perfume of ripe mirabelles and baby pineapple! Behind that, vineyard peach, guava, and mandarin. On the mid-palate, rich extract with refined saline and flinty notes, paired with wonderful minerality. In the long finish, grapefruit flesh and ripe gooseberry – what a magnificent wine – Bravo Mr. Carrier!

Kunz barrel sample 17: (60% Sauvignon Blanc, 40% Sémillon) Fruity, fresh, Burgundian-style, powerful, delicately grassy bouquet, grapefruit, mint, margarine. Balanced, elegant, full palate with intense, precise fruit, well-integrated acidity, pronounced aromatics, tightly woven structure, long, generous finish. Has room to improve.

(60% Sauvignon Blanc, 40% Sémillon) Fruity, fresh, Burgundian, powerful nose with fine grassy notes, grapefruit, mint, margarine. Balanced, elegant, full palate with powerful, refined fruit, well-integrated acidity, intense aromatics, tightly interwoven structure, long, full finish. Can still improve. 18/20 2022 - 2035

The 2016 de Fieuzal Blanc has a nose of ripe Bosc pears, lemon curd, and lime blossoms with hints of chalk dust and brine. The medium-bodied palate delivers a great intensity of mineral and pear-inspired flavors, with soft acidity and a spicy kick to the finish.

Fresh yellow fruits, gentle spices. Broad palate, a slight lack of freshness and pep, lovely length, enveloping.

Light yellow with green highlights. Fieuzal 2016 starts quite differently from other Pessac-Léognan wines. It first shows its floral notes and lets the fruit speak only afterwards! I pick up citrus, mirabelle plums and even a hint of raspberries. On the palate, the wine is creamy. It has good aromatic intensity that confirms the impression on the nose. The structure emerges gently and ideally supports the entire palate. This wine lacks a bit of dimension for now, but what it shows on the finish is promising. A touch of bitterness on the finish.

Pale color. Fruity nose with nuances of pear and white peach. A melting, fragrant palate of medium intensity, developing nuances of white fruits with good balance and no softness. Normal length.

94–96. Barrel Sample. This is a smooth, ripe wine, full of warm fruits and a generous, sophisticated texture. It has balanced acidity and plenty of crispness, while at the same time a pleasant roundness and opulent midpalate. It should age well medium term.
