The elegance of a fruit-forward and silky red Grand Vin of Pomerol

A prestigious and historical reference of Lalande de Pomerol, Château des Annereaux has accomplished a beautiful 2018 vintage.

Located on the right bank of Bordeaux, Château des Annereaux is at the helm of a vineyard of 22.70 hectares of vines spread over the Lalande de Pomerol appellation. Cultivated by means of organic farming and certified by Ecocert, the vineyard is planted in very fine gravelly-sandy soils.

The Grand Vin of the estate, the Château des Annereaux 2018 is made from a blend of Merlot (89%) and Cabernet Sauvignon (11%). The wine is aged in oak barrels (25% new wood).

At the tasting, the Château des Annereaux 2018 sports a dark purple colour. An aromatically pure bouquet expresses notes of black fruit, with blackberries and blueberries, while evolving spicy notes and gourmand chocolate notes. On the palate, the wine displays a generous and concentrated texture, structured by tannins of great elegance, with a silky grain. The finish stretches forth and is very persistent. A beautiful vintage from this emblematic property of the Lalande de Pomerol appellation.

Wine Advocate-Parker :
The 2018 Des Annereaux is deep garnet-purple colored and a little closed, opening to reveal raspberry coulis, blackberry preserves and chocolate-covered cherries scents plus hints of wild thyme and lavender. Medium to full-bodied and understated, with lovely freshness and restraint, it has soft tannins and a mineral-tinged finish.
