Description

The richness and refinement of a great Margaux wine

The Estate

The Château Giscours is a historic estate in the Margaux appellation, with vines first planted in the 16th century. Since 1995, Château Giscours has entered a new era in its history following its acquisition by the Albada Jelgersma family.

This superb Third Classified Growth of Margaux is a true emblem of the Bordeaux region, with its distinctive neoclassical palace-style architecture, its park of rare tree species, and its buildings including the beautiful “Ferme Suzanne.”

The Vineyard

The Château Giscours 2010 is a Margaux wine produced from a 94-hectare vineyard. A true gem, the uniqueness of Château Giscours’s terroir lies in the presence of three deep Garonne gravel hills that play a decisive role in the grapes’ ripening cycle.

Winemaking and Aging

The wine’s aging, which lasts on average from 15 to 18 months depending on the vintage, takes place in French oak barrels, 50% of which are new and 50% of which are one-wine barrels.

Blend

Cabernet Sauvignon (71%)
Merlot (29%)
