Robert Parker Wine Advocate

Robert M. Parker, Jr.

Notes of wet stones along with foresty underbrush characteristics add complexity to the deep black currant/cherry fruit. A hint of fennel is also noticeable. The wine is ripe and dense for a 1999, with light to moderate tannin and low acidity. Anticipated maturity: 2003-2013.

Wine Spectator

An aromatic red, with chocolate, spices and hints of berries. Medium-bodied, with fine tannins and a pretty, fruity aftertaste. Best after 2003. 7,165 cases made.

Weinwisser

Medium wine-red color with a ruby rim. Intense, extremely fruity bouquet with a lactic note, raspberry yogurt, a touch of Nescafé. On the palate, full and generous, lots of substance, balanced astringency, wonderful fruit-driven finish, slightly sweet oaky notes on the finish, relatively good potential for a vintage that otherwise matures quickly.

René Gabriel

Medium wine-red color with a ruby rim. Intense, extremely fruity bouquet, with a lactic note (raspberry yogurt) and a hint of Nescafé in the background. Full on the palate, with plenty of substance, balanced astringency, and a great fruity finish with slightly sweet woody notes. For this vintage, which usually reaches maturity quickly, it shows relatively good potential. 17/20 2005 – 2012

A darker colour than its neighbour. More intense, too. The nose is of medium intensity. More fruit-driven, fresher. The pleasure here comes from the fruit’s freshness and the restrained extraction. There is density as well. Taste in 2 or 3 years. It will keep much longer.
