Description
The purity and freshness of a great Pomerol
The property
The story of the Château La Connivence is above all a story of friendship with three wine-loving friends who decide to create a "very good wine". The superb Pomerol appellation then becomes the cradle of this connivance that unites the three owners: Johan Micoud, former international footballer, Matthieu Chalmé, former player of the Girondins de Bordeaux and Alexandre de Malet Roquefort, owner of the Château La Gaffelière in Saint-Émilion.
The vineyard
Born from the friendship of 3 great wine enthusiasts, Château La Connivence is a property of 1.45 hectares with 90 ares of vines! Small in size but with an exceptional terroir, Château La Connivence watches over a vineyard made up of a mosaic of soils that give all the richness and complexity to this Pomerol wine. The clayey soils allow for powerful wines, revealing the intensity of blackcurrant and truffle aromas, while the fine gravel soils bring depth, fruitiness and vanilla sweetness. The coarse gravel soils are the origin of the property's elegant wines, with notes of oak and licorice.
Soils plowed in a traditional way by horse, very limited use of phytosanitary products, micro-parcel vinifications thanks to a state-of-the-art vat room, the Château La Connivence has all the cards in hand to make the small property a big name in Pomerol.
Vinification and aging
With vinifications carried out under the watchful eye of Claude Gros who joined the Château team as a winemaker in 2010 and Stéphane Derenoncourt, famous consulting winemaker, Château La Connivence 2017 has all the assets of the greatest Crus of Pomerol.
Blend
Merlot (80%) and cabernet franc (20%).
