The Château La Mondotte is a Premier Grand Cru Classé B red wine with organic certification. The 4.5-hectare vineyard grows on the clay-limestone plateau east of Saint-Emilion. Ageing is done in barrels (70% in new barrels) on fine lees for an average of 18 months. The Château La Mondotte 2016 blend is made of 80% Merlot and 20% Cabernet Franc.
The Château La Mondotte 2016 reveals a red colour with purple hues. It offers fruity aromas (red cherry, blueberry, prune) and has well-integrated oak. On the palate, the attack is silky and tannins are present. The tannins extend to the very end of the finish. Best to enjoy the Château La Mondotte 2016 from 2021-2022.
