Description
An aromatic and gourmet Haut-Médoc red wine
The estate
The Château Lanessan vineyard has belonged to the Bouteiller family since the 18th century. Eight generations of the same family have succeeded one another. Since 2020, the management of the estate has been assured by a new team that has strengthened its historical partnership with the famous Médoc oenologist Eric Boissenot. Today, Château Lanessan stands out among the finest references in the Haut-Médoc.
The vineyard
The vineyard of Château Lanessan covers 42 hectares in the Haut-Médoc. The vines are 20 years old on average and are planted on deep Garonne gravel on clay and gravel subsoils.
Winemaking and ageing
Harvested when fully ripe, the grapes are meticulously selected by optical sorting. Fermentation in temperature-controlled concrete vats precedes a 12-month ageing period in 225-litre French oak barrels (1/3 new barrels, 1/3 one-year old barrels and 1/3 two-year old barrels).
Blend
Cabernet Sauvignon (70%), Merlot (25%) and Petit Verdot (5%).
Characteristics and tasting tips for Château Lanessan 2022
Tasting
Colour
The wine has a beautiful depth.
Nose
Expressive, the nose combines floral (violets) and woody fragrances with the stewed fruit notes characteristic of Merlot and the aromatic freshness typical of Cabernet Sauvignon.
Palate
A rich attack precedes a palate that combines tannic power with an enveloping touch. The finish is persistent, with refreshing notes of black fruit.
