Honeysuckle, white peaches, apricot, pears and citrus fruits display with ease in the nose. On the palate, the wine is round, supple, and fruity with a lean to its citrus and white peach filled personality. This will be easy to enjoy on release, and throughout its youth. The wine blends 59% Sauvignon Blanc, with 41% Semillon. 13.5% ABV. Drink from 2027-2032. 93-93 Pts

Juicy, poised, pumice stone minerality; the acidity here is nervous and full of lift, with great expansion across the palate. Wild asparagus and elderflower—super enjoyable. Yield 32 hl/ha. 20% new oak.

Yves Beck

Plenty of freshness and complexity, with notes of aniseed, fennel and raspberries. Creamy on the attack, the wine offers refreshing acidity and a saline, lingering finish. A smooth yet fresh wine.

Description

Characteristics and tasting notes of Château Latour-Martillac 2025

Tasting

Appearance
Intense and deep, adorned with a violet hue, it reveals a remarkable concentration.

Nose
The aromatic bouquet opens with scents of black fruits and violet, subtly enhanced by vanilla nuances and a touch of eucalyptus leaf.

Palate
The attack is supple, carried by wonderfully velvety tannins. The mid-palate unfolds with crunchy black fruit, leading to a long, harmonious and refreshingly vibrant finish. The whole shines through its balance, retaining a beautiful tension despite the sun-drenched character of the year.

Food and wine pairings

This great wine pairs wonderfully with flavourful, characterful dishes. It will enhance cuts of beef, such as a roasted rib or a steak served with béarnaise sauce. It will also make a remarkable match with game meats, such as venison, whose profile harmonises perfectly with the fruity freshness of the wine.

Serving and cellaring

The 2025 vintage offers an interesting cellaring potential. After its ageing, it can rest in the cellar for many years to reveal its full aromatic complexity.

Other characteristics

This vintage has an alcohol content of 13.5% vol, with a pH of 3.64 and a total acidity of 3.24. The harvest yield amounts to 32 hectolitres per hectare.

The excellence of a Grand Cru Classé from Pessac-Léognan

The estate

Located south of Bordeaux, Château Latour-Martillac traces its origins back to the 12th century, but its modern history truly began with its acquisition in 1871 by the Kressmann family. This prestigious estate extends over 54 hectares. Today, the property is brilliantly run by Tristan and Loïc Kressmann. The château stands out for its strong environmental commitment and its dual classification obtained in 1953, rewarding both its red and white wines, a true rarity in the region.

The vineyard

Located at the heart of the Pessac-Léognan appellation, the vineyard spans 54 hectares. The vines lie on two distinct terroirs: the Martillac plateau, composed of gravel, quartz and flint, ideal for Cabernet Sauvignon and Petit Verdot, and cooler clay-limestone soils close to the Garonne, perfect for Merlot. The estate is certified High Environmental Value (HVE) level 3, reflecting a viticulture respectful of biodiversity, including soil work by horse on the historic plots.

The vintage

The year began with a mild and wet winter, allowing an excellent replenishment of soil moisture. The vegetative cycle started with an early and even bud break. A dry spring then helped to greatly limit disease pressure. The summer, marked by heat and drought, encouraged a beautiful concentration of the grapes, leading to an early harvest under optimal weather conditions. Alcohol: 13.5% vol.

Winemaking and ageing

The ageing of this vintage is carried out with care, using 20% new barrels.

Grape varieties

59% Sauvignon Blanc and 41% Sémillon.
