Description
The elegance and depth of a great Pomerol wine
The estate
Tracing its origins back to 1845 under the name Domaine du Gay, Château Le Gay is an iconic estate located on the prestigious Pomerol plateau, in the Bordeaux region. Long shaped by the Robin family motto, “Quality over quantity,” the estate experienced a true renaissance from 2002 under the impetus of Catherine Péré-Vergé. Today, her son Henri Parent heads the property. He continues this pursuit of excellence with a holistic approach, elevating this cru to the status of a rising star of the appellation through wines that combine power and refinement.
The vineyard
The vineyard extends over 11.19 hectares, of which 10.17 are in production, ideally located on the renowned Pomerol plateau. The 20-year-old vines thrive on typical soils composed of clay and gravel.
Vinification and ageing
Manual harvesting in small crates, with double sorting of both bunches and berries. Micro-vinification carried out exclusively in new barrels. Pre-fermentation maceration for 15 days at 6°C. Malolactic fermentation in barrels. Ageing is carried out in new barrels from the integral vinification.
Grape varieties
This Château Le Gay 2025 is made from a blend of merlot (85%) and cabernet franc (15%).
