Description
A fine Pauillac wine with supple tannins and a rich aromatic palette
The estate
In the 18th century, Château Lynch-Moussas, like Château Lynch-Bages, was owned by the famous Lynch family, who were originally from Ireland. The Castéja family, owners since the 16th century in the Pauillac region, acquired this château at the beginning of the 20th century.
The vineyard
A benchmark among fine Pauillac wines, Château Lynch-Moussas watches over a 62-hectare vineyard that rests on a gravel and clay soil.
Vinification and ageing
Fermentation and maceration for 15 to 20 days in temperature-controlled tanks. The wine is aged for 18 months in oak barrels (50% new and 50% first-fill barrels).
The blend
Cabernet Sauvignon (79%)
Merlot (21%)
Château Lynch-Moussas 2015: Characteristics and tasting tips
The tasting
Nose
The nose gives off fragrances of raspberries and wild strawberries. When aerated, savoury woody and undergrowth notes emerge.
Palate
The palate is seduced by this wine’s supple tannins, its delicate acidity and a spicy and persistent finish.
Food and wine pairing
Château Lynch-Moussas 2015 is ideal with a rack of lamb served with cep mushrooms, a leg of lamb with beans or a fillet of beef with mushrooms.
