2011 Saint-Estephe 2e Cru Classe from Bordeaux
Medoc winemakers rose to the challenge and adapted to unusually compromising weather conditions. Chateau Montrose 2011 release is 63% Cabernet Sauvigon, 22% Merlot, 12% Cabernet Franc, 3% Petit Verdot.
This vintage from Saint-Estèphe appellation shows a deep garnet hue. The nose exudes lightly aniseed currant with very delicate wood. The palate offers lovely length, medium-body, and red fruits that lead to a supple finish with ripe yet precise tannins. The high concentration of Cabernet Franc creates a supple structure.
