Parker : 85 / 100
Wine Advocate-Parker :
In many ways the 1978 Mouton is nearly as disappointing as the 1979. Medium ruby-colored, with a straightforward bouquet of green coffee beans, dried berry fruit, and new oak, this compact, angular, austere wine is lacking concentration, and appears to be dropping its fruit more quickly than its brutal tannin. It is a dubious effort, particularly for a first-growth. Last tasted, 6/93.
