Château Picque Caillou 2014

2014 Pessac-Leognan from Bordeaux

Chateau Picque Caillou, located in Mérignac (one of the last viticulture property of this municipality), is a generous Pessac-Leognan. The purple-tinted intense red 2014 Picque Caillou gives off intense and pure black cherry, raspberry and cedar (balsamic touch) fragrances. The palate is pleasant, blending in a lot of fruit aromas. The mid-palate is delicate with civilised tannins that give a creamy and silky sensation. Without being heavy, the wine seduces by its frankness and pleasurable aspect.

Wine Advocate-Parker :
The 2014 Chateau Picque Caillou has a fragrant and well-defined, quite complex bouquet with melted tar and graphite infusing the black fruit. The palate is medium-bodied with fine tannin, crisp acidity and great harmony. This punches above my expectations, showing much more refinement than previous vintages. This is one to watch--a pretty little thing.
