Description
A complex and elegant red wine from Pomerol
The estate
Located at the heart of Pomerol, Clos L’Église was recognised as one of the most expansive vineyards during the 18th century. Repurchased in 1997 by Sylviane Garcin Cathiard, sister of Daniel Cathiard, who owns Smith Haut-Lafitte, the estate is now under the management of Hélène Garcin Cathiard and Patrice Lévêque.
The vineyard
Clos l'Église 2021 is a Pomerol wine made from a 5.89 hectare vineyard that is planted on a clay-gravel terroir.
Vinification and ageing
The grapes are harvested by hand and vinified in stainless steel vats. The wine is aged for 18 to 24 months in French oak barrels.
The blend
Clos l'Église 2021 comprises a blend of Merlot (80%) and Cabernet Franc (20%).
