Description
A white Savigny-Lès-Beaune Village, combining the freshness and precision of Chardonnay in the Côte de Beaune
The estate
The Domaine du Château de Meursault has had its modern configuration since 1973, when André Boisseaux purchased and fully restored the château, making it one of the largest estates in the Côte de Beaune, in Burgundy. Since late 2012, the property has belonged to the Halley family, under the leadership of Olivier Halley, who continues to pursue a commitment to environmental excellence. The vineyard now extends over approximately 67 hectares, farmed organically and spread across numerous plots in the heart of the Côte de Beaune.
The vineyard
The Savigny-Lès-Beaune Village 2025 cuvée comes from plots located at the top of the slope, facing south-east, on a stony clay-limestone substrate that offers good drainage and encourages the vines to root deeply. These plots are farmed organically, with respect for living soils and biodiversity, in keeping with the estate's philosophy in the Côte de Beaune.
Vinification and ageing
For the Savigny-Lès-Beaune Village 2025, the harvest is carried out by hand, in small perforated 20 kg crates, with systematic hand sorting, as is customary in white wine vinification, so as to retain only perfectly healthy berries. This rigour, applied right from the harvest, reflects the estate's philosophy that there are no great wines without great grapes, and aims to preserve all the purity and precision of the fruit through to bottling.
Grape variety
This Savigny-Les-Beaune Village 2025 from Domaine du Château de Meursault is 100% Chardonnay.
