The estate
Based in France, in the heart of the village of Pommard, Domaine Parent is a historic benchmark in Burgundy. While the family's winegrowing roots stretch back to the 17th century, the estate was officially founded in 1803. Today, it is run by sisters Anne Parent and Catherine Fages-Parent, who were joined in 2024 by the thirteenth generation, Constance Fages-Parent. Renowned for its environmental commitment, the estate farms its 10 hectares of vines under certified organic agriculture and obtained Demeter certification in 2024 for its biodynamic practices, reflecting a perfect alliance between tradition and respect for the terroir.
The vineyard
The grapes for this Burgundy wine come from plots located about one kilometre south of the village of Pommard. The vines thrive on clay-limestone soils typical of the Côte de Beaune. The vineyard is managed with great agronomic rigour and is certified organic and biodynamic, fostering soil vitality and an authentic expression of the terroir.
Vinification and ageing
The making of the Bourgogne Côte d'Or 2024 begins with complete destemming of the berries, followed by a cold pre-fermentation maceration of around three days to gently extract the aromas. Fermentation takes place at controlled temperatures, with gentle punching down and regular pumping over. After a vatting period of twelve to fourteen days, the wine is aged for twelve months in French oak barrels. It is then bottled at the estate.
Grape variety
100% Pinot Noir.
