An exceptional Provence rosé rooted in a unique maritime terroir

The estate

Founded in 1896 by Marcel Ott, an Alsatian agronomist, Domaines Ott* has represented a major institution in Provence for over 130 years. The House owns three distinct estates: Château de Selle acquired in 1912, Clos Mireille in 1936, and Château Romassan in 1956. Since 2004, the estate has been part of the Roederer Collection Group while preserving its independence. Now led by Jean-François Ott, representing the fourth generation, the estate continues a philosophy of quality and respect for terroir, symbolized by its iconic bottle created in 1932. Domaines Ott* stands out as a pioneer of premium rosé and practices certified organic viticulture.

The vineyard

Clos Mireille covers 174 hectares classified as a natural reserve in La Londe-les-Maures, including 56 hectares planted with vines. The vineyards slope gently down to the Mediterranean, benefiting from exceptional maritime exposure. The soils, composed of schist and quartz dating back around 340 million years and free of limestone, impart a distinctive minerality to the wines. Constant sea breezes and salty air infuse the terroir with characteristic salinity. The average age of the vines is 17 years. This Côtes de Provence appellation benefits from a moderating microclimate that extends the ripening cycle while preserving freshness and balance.

The vintage

The 2025 vintage in Provence was characterized by a mild spring with moderate rainfall, followed by a summer marked by sustained heat and dryness offset by cool nights. This nuanced thermal pattern created optimal conditions for gradual and even ripening. Harvesters observed a steady maturation producing healthy, well-balanced grapes with remarkable aromatic finesse and pleasant acidity, promising elegance and strong aging potential.

Winemaking and aging

The grapes for Clos Mireille 2025 are hand-harvested, allowing for rigorous cluster selection. Gentle, controlled pressing extracts delicate color without bitterness. Vinification follows organic farming principles, excluding any chemical inputs. Aging on lees with regular bâtonnage develops aromatic complexity while preserving the wine’s characteristic crystalline freshness.
