Domaine Jean-Luc Colombo 2012 La Louvée was born in a year of contrast. The peak harvest allowed for a new addition in the series of superior Cornas vintages. The small appellation of 110 hectares (272 acres) overlooking the Rhone Valley -a unique single-grape vineyard- is home to the Syrah. The dense dark-red hued 2012 La Louvee exudes a subtle, rich bouquet of anise and tobacco notes. A true Syrah, the palate is elegant and structured with well integrated tannins. Aged 18 months in barrels, this distinguished Cornas will impress with finesse.
Wine Advocate-Parker :
A step up over the Terres Brulees, the 2012 Cornas La Louvee has a savory, complex, medium-bodied style to go with notes of blackberry and raspberry fruit, toasted spice and cured meats. Drinking nicely today, it has enough tannin to evolve nicely through 2027.
