Description

A fruity and silky Second Wine of Pomerol

The estate

Owned by Domaines Delon, Château Nénin embodies, according to the Delon family, "the expression of a great Pomerol meant to age". This 19th-century estate was acquired by the Delon family in 1997 and underwent a major restructuring, bringing Château Nénin to the top of high-quality Pomerol wines.

The vineyard

The vineyard of Château Nénin covers an area of 32 hectares. Located on a mosaic of soils composed of clay, siliceous gravel, quartz, granite, basalt pebbles and iron ore, the vines produce fine Pomerol wines.

The wine

Fugue de Nénin is the Second Wine of Château Nénin, which was first produced in 1997. Fugue contains a higher proportion of Merlot than its predecessor, making it more accessible in its youth while still expressing both the identity of Pomerol and its estate. The name Fugue comes from the world of music, a fugue being the repetition of a tune, the Grand Vin of Château Nénin. Fugue de Nénin is a hedonistic, delicious, round and silky wine, which can be drunk earlier than the Grand Vin but will provide the same amount of pleasure.

The blend

Merlot (95%)
Cabernet Franc (5%).
