A white wine from Roussillon with a seductive balance and aromatic expression

The estate

Established since 1808 in Tain-L'Hermitage, M. Chapoutier is an elite reference among fine Rhône Valley wines today.

Winemaker and wine merchant, Michel Chapoutier has successfully brought this family-owned business to the very top. The wines by Maison Chapoutier are renowned by the finest connoisseurs from all around the world for their refinement and high quality. A man of many talents, Michel Chapoutier holds the world record for 100/100 scores awarded by the American critic, Robert Parker. Mathilde, Michel Chapoutier's daughter, has taken over the running of this iconic house, which has over 350 hectares of vineyards in the most prestigious appellations of the northern and southern Rhône Valley region.

The vineyard

Bila-Haut Chrysopée 2021 by M. Chapoutier is a Collioure wine made from vineyards planted on ancient schist soils.

The vintage

The mild winter preceded a spring whose coolness slowed down the vegetative cycle. Summer was marked by lower temperatures than in previous years. These conditions led to a vintage that combined a beautiful tannic structure with a fruity expression, all sustained by a persistent mineral expression.

M. Chapoutier’s Bila-Haut Chrysopée 2021: Characteristics and tasting tips

The tasting

The nose opens with refreshing floral fragrances (elderberry, white flowers). When aerated, the bouquet blends toasty and fruity notes with a hint of boxwood.

Refined and beautifully fresh, the palate seduces with its balance, tension and salinity, a characteristic of this seaside terroir. Lengthy, the palate reveals fruity (stone fruits) and floral (white flowers) aromas throughout the tasting experience.
