Description
An expressive and balanced red wine from Vallée du Rhône
The estate
Since 1808, the House of M. Chapoutier has been firmly rooted in Tain-l’Hermitage, in the heart of the Vallée du Rhône. A symbol of excellence, it has established itself as one of the must-have names of the Rhône wine region.
At the head of this family estate, Michel Chapoutier has skillfully combined tradition and boldness to elevate his wines to the summit. Renowned for their finesse and precision, the Chapoutier vintages capture the hearts of connoisseurs around the world. A true figure in wine, Michel Chapoutier holds the record for 100/100 scores awarded by critic Robert Parker. Today, his daughter Mathilde perpetuates this heritage, overseeing a vast vineyard of over 350 hectares spread across the most prestigious appellations in the north and south of the Vallée du Rhône.
The vineyard
Temenos comes from the prestigious appellation Cornas. The vines, cultivated according to organic farming principles, are planted on three emblematic terroirs: Les Reynards, Mazard and Saint Pierre. These parcels rest on a decomposed granite soil, locally called “gore”, which gives the wine depth and complexity.
Vinification and aging
The grapes, hand-harvested, undergo a meticulous sorting before being fully destemmed. Fermentation takes place in raw concrete vats for about ten days, followed by an extended maceration of 4 to 5 weeks. The wine is then aged for 16 to 18 months, allowing it to develop its full aromatic richness.
Grape variety

Deep and intense, the color reveals subtle violet hues.
Nose
The bouquet combines mineral notes of graphite with indulgent aromas of black fruit jelly and bay leaf, with a refined touch of cedar and fig leaf.
Palate
The attack is generous, the palate ample and balanced, combining freshness and power. The tannins are silky, supported by an aromatic framework marked by fully ripe black fruits, spices and a delicate smoky note reminiscent of soot.

Ideally enjoyed between 15 and 17 °C.
Food and wine pairings
It pairs wonderfully with marinated pork ribs and a vegetable stir-fry.
