Produttori del Barbaresco : Langhe Nebbiolo 2022

Here's a pretty little surprise from Produttori del Barbaresco. The 2022 Langhe Nebbiolo is slender and streamlined in consistency, but it remains surprisingly focused throughout. It shows raisiny flavors of prune and dried fig. The effect is delineated and sharp. The wine is generous, and it offers a lot of bright energy as well, within the context of hot-vintage fruit. This is an ample release of 100,000 bottles.

Graphite, eucalyptus, cherry and raspberry flavors mark this sinewy red. Supple at first, then dense, dusty tannins kick in, leaving a chewy finish. Drink now through 2030. 16,000 cases made, 1,500 cases imported.

The 2022 Langhe Nebbiolo was bottled last September and pours a deep, clear ruby color. Bright and lifted, with plenty of spice character, it offers notes of ripe raspberries, cinnamon, fresh mint, and pressed flowers, while the palate is approachable and ripe yet remains fresh. Made entirely from Barbaresco fruit, it’s ripe, with a plush texture, bright acidity, and a hint of warmth. This is a serious Langhe Nebbiolo with lots of character to drink over the next 5–6 years. 10,000 cases were produced, which is about 25% of their production.
