Description
Characteristics and tasting notes of the Rosso dei Notri 2023 Tua Rita
Tasting
Color
The color reveals a ruby red hue with delicate purple highlights, reflecting an elegant visual lightness.
Nose
The aromatic bouquet opens with notes of crushed red fruit and well-ripened black berries, such as black cherry. It then evolves toward subtle floral and mineral touches, enhanced by light spicy nuances of white pepper and cinnamon.
Palate
The attack reveals a bright, refreshing acidity. The palate offers a harmonious texture where suppleness is balanced by a delicate, well-controlled tannic structure. The finish, of moderate length, pleasantly extends the fruity aromas.
Food and wine pairing
This Italian red wine pairs perfectly with grilled or roasted meats, such as beef or lamb with Mediterranean herbs. It also goes very well with sauced dishes like pasta with ragù, small game, and semi-hard aged cheeses.
Service and storage
For an optimal tasting experience, it is recommended to serve the Rosso dei Notri 2023 at a temperature between 16 and 18°C.
The fruity, balanced expression of a Tuscan wine
The estate
Founded in 1984 by Rita Tua and her husband Virgilio Bisti, the Tua Rita estate is located in Tuscany. Modest at first, the estate has grown while preserving its artisanal and organic philosophy. Today, it is run by their daughter Simena Bisti and her husband Stefano Frascolla, together with their son Giovanni, an enologist representing the third generation. Rita Tua also remains present at the estate. Renowned worldwide, Tua Rita stands out for its ability to combine tradition and innovation to reveal the authenticity of its terroir.
The vineyard
Located in the northern Maremma, on the Colline Metallifere near the Tyrrhenian coast in Tuscany, the vineyard thrives at altitudes ranging from 100 to 380 meters. The vines benefit from a clay-limestone soil rich in stones, gravel, and minerals brought by the Cornia River. The coastal microclimate, marked by sea breezes and significant diurnal temperature variation, promotes optimal grape ripening. The estate practices organic farming with entirely hand-harvested grapes.
Winemaking and aging
For the Rosso dei Notri 2023, the estate made a technical choice by favoring vinification almost exclusively in cement tanks, complemented by a small proportion of stainless steel. The absence of oak aging helps limit oxidation and tannic extraction, thereby preserving all the freshness and brilliance of the fruit's primary aromas.
Grape varieties
This wine comes from a blend made up of about 50% Sangiovese, complemented by Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Cabernet Franc, and Syrah.
