The estate A Third Classified Growth in the Official Classification of 1855, Château Palmer is a real star of the Margaux appellation, on the left bank of the Bordeaux region. With biodynamic viticulture launched in 2009, Château Palmer has chosen to convert the entire vineyard in 2014. Having built its legacy on vintages that have become legendary, Château Palmer continues to write its history under the direction of the talented Thomas Duroux.
The vineyard Upon an exceptional terroir in the immediate vicinity of the Gironde estuary, Château Palmer has fairly unusual grape varieties for a Médoc estate, with Merlot given pride of place (47%), supplemented by an equal portion (47%) Cabernet Sauvignon and 6% Petit Verdot.
The vintage The 2019 vintage brilliantly confirms the excellent work carried out by the technical teams of the estate. Beginning with the Merlot on September 19 and ending on October 11, the harvest at Château Palmer yielded sublime fruit. The Merlot displayed a beautiful exuberance while the Cabernet Sauvignon and the Petit Verdot showed exceptional finesse. Ultimately, 2019 resulted in wines that are faithful to the terroir of Château Palmer, wines that will once again mark the history of the estate's great vintages.

The tasting Tasted En Primeur, the Château Palmer's Alter Ego 2019 presents a dark colour. Literally bursting from the glass, this wine explodes on the nose with intense aromas: subtle notes of red fruit, beautiful floral fragrances and notes of springtime. On the palate, Alter Ego stands out for its freshness, gradually giving way to a full texture that stretches for a long time on the finish. Following with great panache in the footsteps of the estate’s First Wine, the Alter Ego 2019 faithfully expresses the true identity of its terroir and is guaranteed to delight lovers of great Margaux.
