1996 Barolo, pure Nebbiolo from Piedmont

This 1996 Barolo Riserva of Borgogno is a pure Nebbiolo aged for 5 years in wooden barrels. It offers a garnet-tinted deep, intense red colour. It expresses a complex bouquet on oriental fragrances as saffron, pink peppercorn, vanilla or even intense and delicious black chocolate. On the palate, the vibrancy and strength of the Nebbiolo boldly express on firm tannins, without being rustic. The whole is blended in a fruity flesh. Despite its age, this 1996 Barolo Riserva can still age for a few years in the cellar.
