Description

The freshness and creaminess of an exceptional vintage Champagne

The estate

Founded in 1776 in Reims, the Champagne Louis Roederer House has remained both family-owned and independent. After more than 200 years, Louis Roederer is still in the hands of the same family. Now led by Frédéric Rouzaud, representing the seventh generation, the Louis Roederer House embodies the excellence of Champagne wines around the world through cuvées crafted like true works of art.

With nearly 241 hectares of vines, Louis Roederer draws its strength from its extraordinary vineyard, made up exclusively of Grands and Premiers Crus in the Vallée de la Marne, the Montagne de Reims, and the Côte des Blancs. A true mosaic of terroirs, the Louis Roederer vineyard is divided into 410 plots, allowing the full diversity of Champagne’s soils to be expressed.

The vineyard

At the threshold of maturity, always retaining freshness, these original disgorgement champagnes illustrate the aging potential of Champagne wines and their remarkable gastronomic dimension.” Jean-Baptiste Lécaillon (Cellar Master).

With this first limited edition “Late Release,” Louis Roederer unveils exceptional bottles crafted exclusively from the “La Montagne” vineyard, an iconic terroir of Champagne.

It was on these parcels of the Montagne de Reims that the Roederer family adventure began, following the acquisition of their first vines in the 1850s.

Vinified with precision and then aged in oak vats before maturing for over twenty years in the silence and darkness of the house’s underground cellars, these 5 vintages (1999, 1997, 1996, 1995, 1990) are as much witnesses to the history of Louis Roederer as they are an ode to the passage of time and to noble, refined food pairings.

The wine

Crafted exclusively from grapes grown in the “La Montagne” vineyard, this Brut Late Release Vintage "La Montagne" 1995 by Louis Roederer expresses the character and nuances of two emblematic terroirs of the Montagne de Reims, namely Verzy and Chouilly.
