The origins of the Maison De Sousa dates back to the First World War, when Manuel de Sousa arrived in France with the "poilus" (i.e. the French soldiers during WW1). At the end of the war, he settled in Avize where his son married a winegrower's daughter, thus giving birth to the De Sousa Champagne House.

When Erick de Sousa took over in 1986, an exceptional growth occurred, making this estate a major and key player in Champagne. This House is located in the heart of the Côte des Blancs and benefits from the best classifed Grand Crus parcels, perfectly epitomised by the "Caudalies" champagne.

The perpetual quest for excellence as well as the respect of nature and the environment are two of the house’s strong values. Each cuvée authentically expresses the characteristics of the Champagne grape varieties, Chardonnay, Pinot Noir and Pinot Meunier.
