Château Coutet 2000

Somewhat one-dimensional and simple, as are many 2000s, but with loads of fruit and moderate sweetness; this offering should be drunk over the next decade.

Bright, brilliant yellow. Expansive, sweet bouquet with a delicate hint of botrytis. Balanced, pleasantly sweet palate flow, light apricots, mirabelles, medium finish, slightly clumsy sweetness.

Childhood memories came to mind. Above all, apricot syrup. Unfortunately, the wine is rather clumsy and low in acidity.

Hollow, fresh bouquet with citrus and vanilla. Soft, somewhat heavy and rich palate with pronounced sweetness and little acidity. Long, broad finish. 15/20 2010 - 2020

Unattractive iodized notes on the nose; clearly a challenging harvest that resulted in a bitter white-peach stone fruit character, overly pharmaceutical.

Yellow-green color. Medium-intensity nose. Discreet. Aromatic. A touch of lavender. Floral. Spicy when swirled. The nose of this wine suggests a great cru origin. On the palate, the body is medium, slightly watery, aromatic, and could undoubtedly be even more distinctive in texture. Best enjoyed young.

Still very fresh on the palate with a pronounced acidity on the finish, Coutet perfectly expresses its Barsac character. Its aromas have evolved very little, showcasing wonderful youthfulness. Time will make it even more complex—be patient and wait for it.
