Chateau Coutet name refers to distinctive lively, fresh, tense and very unique style of the wines produced in the Barsac appellation -Coutet means "knife" in the Gascon dialect. The 2002 Chateau Coutet interesting blend combines higher proportions of Semillion with smaller quantities of Sauvignon Blanc and Muscadelle.
The wine displays a beautiful copper-tinted colour. The generous and very open nose exudes complex aromas: beeswax, quince paste, and dry fruits. The attack is round and generous, with great balance between concentration and freshness. The palate offers honey and rock candy flavours mixed with spices and vanilla. The finish reveals great mineral character, freshness, lovely length and very ripe exotic fruits.
Space limitations preclude including tasting notes. 2002 was an average vintage.
